What Does Acupuncture Feel Like?
Many first-time patients are concerned that acupuncture needles will feel like hypodermic injections at the doctor’s office. They won't. Acupuncture uses single use medical grade stainless steel needles that are as thin as a single hair. Many points you will not feel the insertion of the needle. The points you do feel will feel like an ant bite. The pain is suppose to subside right away. If you feel any pain, discomfort, and the point is too intense, you will let me know, and I will either adjust or remove the needle. The goal with your acupuncture treatment is to have you as relaxed as possible.

How Many Treatments Will I Need?
The benefits of acupuncture are cumulative, so more then one treatment is necessary. For acute conditions with a high pain level or severity, you can expect to have daily treatment until we get your pain down to a manageable level. For many this can be in as little as 2-3 treatments. Chronic conditions usually take more treatments than acute conditions to resolve. Depending on the type, severity, and duration of the chronic condition, it can take 8 or more treatments to completely resolve the issue. Most patients feel some relief after their first treatment.
